IT layoffs 2023: Tech giants are laying off around 3000 employees every day in January

New Delhi: Nearly 3,000 tech workers are now being laid off on an average every day in January across the world, including India, as tech giants like Microsoft and Google join the ongoing layoff season. The frequency of firing has increased as concerns about a worldwide economic downturn have increased. 166 IT companies have so far laid off more than 65 thousand employees.

Google’s parent company Alphabet said 12,000 people, or about 6 percent of its total, would be let go.
