J&K residents getting calls to hit the streets against G-20 meeting

Ahead of the G20 meeting in Srinagar, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has issued an advisory against some international mobile numbers for spreading rumors about the upcoming G20 event in the Union Territory. The advisory came after several people reported receiving automated calls on their phones asking them to come on the road and block the Srinagar International Airport to stop the G20 meeting.

Police advised residents of Jammu and Kashmir to be vigilant against such calls and not respond to any of the following numbers- 44 7520 693559, 447418343648, and 44 7520 693134, 44 7418 343648 or any other ISD numbers/virtual numbers which are suspicious.

The Additional Director General of J&K Police said that the numbers are spreading fake news and anti-India propaganda and calls from such numbers should be avoided. The cyber wing of the police has taken cognizance of all such calls and is currently tracing their origin.

The police also said that in case of any complaint or inquiry related to such calls, the person can visit or contact the cyber wing of J&K Police or their nearest police station.
