Karnataka government suspends 5 sub-registrars for Shivaram Karanth layout disturbances. Bengaluru News – Times of India

Revenue Minister R Ashok On Wednesday informed the Legislative Council that the state government has suspended five sub-registrars in the past one week, fearing retaliation from the Supreme Court over illegal registration of controversial sites. Shivram Karanth Layout in Bangalore.
Speaking on the issue of Akrama Sakarama and revenue sites to a question raised by JD(S) MLC Kantharaj, the Revenue Minister said that the judiciary is quite firm in such situations and the government is trying to navigate the water flow swiftly. Still working. Possible.
“Despite the top court asking the government to stop it, the Supreme Court warned us on the issue of property registration in Shivram Karanth Layout. We had to suspend five sub-registrars in this case.
The SC had directed that no registration of sites can be initiated in favor of third parties following the direction to acquire land for the layout in March 2018.
However, in its previous hearing held in August 2021, the SC took serious note of the alleged violation of its orders and said that the registration of sites was continuing in the layout for third parties. This came down heavily on the state government and asked the government to transfer the sub-registrars immediately.
Ashok said the government had filed an action taken report citing suspension of sub-registrars in an affidavit to the SC.
Earlier, Ashok said the government was trying its level best to lift the stay on the Akrama-Sakrama resolution, which is pending in the Supreme Court in a separate matter.
“If the policy is approved by the SC then the government stands to earn in thousands of crores. In Bengaluru alone, we anticipate revenue of Rs 5,000 to 6,000 crore and also help a lot of common people who have bought sites and have not been able to regularize it,” the minister said.
