Karnataka Govt. Asks for long-term measures to prevent floods in Bengaluru

According to Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, the state government has sought a long-term plan for relief from the rains in Bengaluru.

Mr. Shivakumar told reporters in Bengaluru on Monday that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and himself had held several rounds of meetings with the officials concerned on measures to be taken to prevent the havoc caused by the rains.

“We have sought a long-term plan from the authorities concerned to prevent waterlogging in underpasses and other areas. Besides this, we have also directed them to take immediate measures to prevent such water-logging.”
