KCR’s poaching allegations in Supreme Court on Monday

The accused had moved the apex court saying that the complaint against them was politically motivated.

New Delhi:

The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to hear a petition filed by three people, which was directed by the Telangana High Court to surrender TRS MLAs to the police in connection with an alleged poaching case.

A bench of Justices BR Gavai and BV Nagarathna fixed the matter for hearing on November 7 and asked the trial court to consider the bail of the three accused on merits in the meantime.

The accused had moved the apex court saying that the complaint against them was politically motivated and deserved to be dismissed.

The Telangana High Court had on October 29 set aside the trial court’s order and directed the accused to surrender before the police.

A local court had rejected the remand of three persons, who were arrested by Cyberabad police for trying to defection to four Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLAs, for not following the procedure for issuance of notices before arrest. On doing.

The government appealed to the High Court against the order of the lower court.

Following allegations by Telangana Rashtra Samithi that the BJP tried to buy out some of its MLAs, the saffron party filed a writ petition in the High Court seeking a CBI probe.

Based on a complaint by one of the MLAs, Pilot Rohit Reddy, on the night of October 26, cases were registered against the trio – Ramachandra Bharti, Kore Nandu Kumar and Simhayaji Swamy – under relevant sections of the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act.

According to the FIR, Rohit Reddy alleged that the accused offered him Rs 100 crore and in return the MLA had to leave the TRS and contest as a BJP candidate in the next assembly elections.
