Palakkad (Kerala):

The investigating officer in the alleged murder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker Srinivasan claimed that he was getting threatening calls.

Police said that as per the complaint filed by the investigating officer, the caller told him that his interrogation had created trouble for him and he would have to face the consequences before leaving Palakkad.

“He asked the investigating officer to keep a coffin ready,” the police said.

Based on his statement, a complaint has been lodged at Palakkad-Town South Police Station.

Significantly, 34 accused have been arrested so far in the murder case of RSS worker and all of them are associated with Popular Front of India (PFI).

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker Srinivasan was murdered on April 16, a day after (PFI) leader Subair was murdered in front of his father in Kerala’s Palakkad district.

Subair, a Popular Front worker, was murdered in Elupally Palakkad district on 15 April and as retaliation, Srinivasan, a former RSS worker, was murdered on 16 April.

The police had constituted a special investigation team to probe the two cases and the ADGP is leading the law and order teams.

It is worth noting that recently the Central Government had banned the Popular Front of India (PFI) for 5 years.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) through a notification issued recently announced “declaring the PFI and its affiliates or affiliates or fronts as an unlawful association with immediate effect”.

The ban was imposed on the PFI as well as its fronts including the Rehab India Foundation (RIF). Campus Front of India (CFI), All India Imam Council (AIIC), National Confederation of Human Rights Organization (NCHRO), National Women Front, Junior Front, Empower India Foundation and Rehab Foundation, Kerala as “unlawful associations”.

According to inputs received by both the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as well as the Enforcement Directorate (ED), “the PFI is mobilizing and collecting substantial funds from abroad in a systematic and structured manner”.

Central agencies also came to know that “PFI was raising funds abroad and transferring them to India through secret and illegal channels”.
