Left parties, VCK continue to protest against Agneepath

Cadre belonging to the Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Viduthalai Chiruthigal Katchi and Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) protested against the Agneepath scheme near Swadeshi Mill Complex on Wednesday.

They raised slogans against the new military recruitment scheme. According to the protesters, this plan would be detrimental to the security of the country. He accused the BJP-led central government of trying to weaken the armed forces by introducing a new scheme.

The workers raised slogans demanding immediate withdrawal of the scheme. CPI secretary AM Saleem, CPI(M) secretary R Rajaangam, former minister R Viswanathan, former MLA Nara Kalanathan, CPI (ML) secretary S Balasubramaniam and VCK principal secretary Deva Pozilan were present.
