Targeting the divorced and the rich, a thug married at least seven women on the pretext of giving them a new life and then fled with a hefty amount. Surprisingly, three out of seven women stayed in the streets of the same locality. Now he is living with another woman by duping seven wives of lakhs of rupees.
Several cases are registered against him in many police stations. Notably, most of the victims are from Hyderabad who are highly educated and doing their respective jobs. Shocked by his high-handed fraud, two victims of his thug addressed the media at the Press Club in Somajiguda, Hyderabad, Telangana, and made strong demands against him with the intention of keeping other women safe from him.
According to him, Adapa Siva Shankar Babu, an engineering graduate, is a native of Bethapudi village in Mangalagiri mandal of Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. They contacted divorced women who were registered on matrimonial sites. He won her trust by showing him a divorce certificate and said that his daughter lives with him.
He also submitted his salary slip which suggested that he worked in an IT company with a package of Rs 2 lakh per month. The parents of one of the divorced women got her married to their daughter with a dowry which, according to them, amounted to lakhs of rupees. He made his wife resign from the job and register their marriage on the pretext of going to America on project work. Then, with the US tour being “postponed”, he spent his time indoors. When his wife’s parents asked for their money back, he asked them to file a police complaint.
When the duped woman approached Ramachandrapuram police in Medak district, Shiva Shankar Babu appeared with another woman whom he claimed to be his wife. When the victim reached out to his so-called wife, both of them realized that there was more to it than meets the eye.
This happened when the “wife” present with him at the police station asked his brothers to keep an eye on him. If you thought this was the end of the story, wait, there’s more.
Then it came to know that the miscreant was living with three women in three streets of the same locality. When the new “wife” inquired about his relationship with three women, the man fled.
On digging deeper into the history of his life, it was revealed that he had married a total of seven women. His first marriage took place in 2018 in his native village and since then he has not stopped.
Cases were registered against him in 2019 and 2021 at KPHB police stations, RC Puram in Telangana, Gachibowli, SR Nagar and Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh.
The women told the media that Shiv Shankar had claimed that Ambati Rambabu, a minister from Andhra Pradesh, was her close relative and had close links with BJP leader Srikanth. He demanded strict action from the concerned authorities against him.
