Chrome OS is now ChromeOS, nothing else has changed – Times of India

Google making a small branding change in chrome OS, its Linux-based operating system designed for Chromebook devices. Google’s Senior Director of Marketing Chrome OSJames Crum confirms to The Verge that he has rebranded Chrome OS As in ChromeOS. The only difference here is that they dropped the space between the word Chrome and OS.
As per the report, the changes are already live on the dev page of ChromeOS. However, the letter ‘C’ appears to be in lowercase.
Other than that, nothing has changed, the logo and features, everything remains the same.
Back in March, we reported that a new source code suggests that the company is reportedly planning to rebrand Chrome OS by bypassing the space and now, the changes are official and now live in some places. However, the official ChromeOS page still shows the old logo.
There has always been some inconsistency when it comes to the ChromeOS name. There are places where it is mentioned as Chrome OS (two words). This has also become a matter of debate among users.
However, it is finally clear that ChromeOS will be referred to as a term going forward.
Previous reports also suggested that the company would rebrand Chromium OS as ChromiumOS. However, nothing of the sort has happened so far. Chromium OS is still mentioned as two words almost everywhere we checked.
