Maharashtra Corona Cases: 4,456 new cases were reported in Maharashtra, 183 deaths. Mumbai News – Times of India

Mumbai: Maharashtra 4,456 new cases of coronavirus were reported on Wednesday, taking the total caseload to 64,69,332.
In addition, the state recorded 183 deaths – the highest (98) in the Pune region – taking the death toll to 1,37,496.
According to a health department official, 4,430 patients have been cured in the state in the last 24 hours and now the total number of people who have been cured is 62,77,230.
Maharashtra is now left with 51,078 active cases.
He said that the recovery rate in Maharashtra is now 97.03 percent while the death rate is 2.12 percent.
Rural parts of Dhule, Jalna, Hingoli and Washim Malegaon, Dhule and Nanded districts and municipal corporations did not report any new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
The official said Ahmednagar district recorded the highest number of 653 cases in Maharashtra, followed by rural parts of Pune with 608 infections.
The highest number of deaths were reported in Pune (32) in the last 24 hours, the official said.
Of Maharashtra’s eight regions, the Pune region saw the highest number of new cases at 2,018, followed by the Mumbai region with 876 infections.
Nashik 783 fresh infections in the area, Kolhapur 545, Latur 154 Aurangabad 33, Akola 22 and Nagpur 25, the official said.
Of the 183 deaths in eight zones, the highest 98 were from Pune region, followed by Kolhapur region with 59 deaths.
Notably, Nagpur region did not report any fresh death due to COVID-19 infection. The official said that 13 deaths were reported in Mumbai region, nine in Nashik, two in Akola and one each in Aurangabad and Latur.
He said Mumbai city reported 415 new cases and four Covid-19 deaths, while Pune city reported 324 infections and 32 deaths.
According to the official, out of 51,078 active patients in Maharashtra, Pune district has the highest number of 14,091 cases.
Out of 62,77,230 patients who have been cured in the state, maximum 10,86,386 have been from Pune district.
The official said that with 1,78,004 new tests, the number of samples tested so far in Maharashtra has reached 5,41,54,890.
According to the official, a total of 2,90,427 people are in home quarantine in the state and 2,071 patients are in institutional quarantine.
