Nashik: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar On Friday, it directed local administrations across the state to increase the COVID vaccination coverage, while also ensuring that hospitals are equipped with medical oxygen supply for patients.
Pawar was in Jalgaon For the District Planning Committee meeting, the Minister pointed out that the spread of the Omicron type was a major concern. “Since vaccines reduce the severity of infection, the authorities need to conduct door-to-door campaigns to ensure that all people are vaccinated,” he said.
He said that the authorities need to strengthen the infrastructure for health care in rural areas as well. “The focus should be to ensure the supply and storage of medical oxygen in rural areas so that it is available to people suffering from infection in rural areas,” he said.
Pawar also stressed on regular fire, electrical and structural audits of hospitals and checking of fire-fighting equipment.
