Thirunindravur police station personnel on Tuesday arrested a 50-year-old man for allegedly damaging six ATMs with a hammer while intoxicated.
On Monday night, the police received information about a person’s ATM being damaged on Prakash Nagar Main Road. When he was roaming with a hammer on the CTH main road, the police team caught him. He was identified as 50-year-old Sheshadri, a resident of Prakash Nagar.
He claimed that when he recently tried to withdraw cash from an ATM, the machine refused to withdraw cash, prompting him to target him.
They damaged three displays of ATMs of a nationalized bank and three other banks of other nearby banks. Based on the complaint of a bank manager, he was arrested and sent to judicial custody.
