As of September 2022, Mercedes-Benz had accumulated a total order bank of over 7,000 cars. The deliveries of the EQS EV have started for the first customers and the new bookings will be completed early next year. Of its ICE line-up, Mercedes-Benz LWB remained the top seller for the E-Class brand, while flagship models such as the S-Class and Maybach saw a significant increase in demand. On the other hand, GLE and GLS SUVs set a record by contributing 30 per cent to the total demand in Q3 of 2022.
The CY22’s growth in sales is also significant as it surpassed the pre-pandemic 2019 sales figure for Mercedes-Benz. Martin Schwenk, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “Our sales are at pre-pandemic levels, surpassing CY 2021 sales numbers in the first nine months of this year. The current market momentum gives us confidence to strive to achieve our highest ever sales. Our sales performance is a combination of our attractive product portfolio, strong consumer sentiment and the ongoing festive season.”
