Mob attacks mosque in Gurugram; Threats to expel Namazis from the village

A mob of over 200 people vandalized a mosque in a village here and attacked people offering prayers inside and threatened to evict them from the village.

The police have registered an FIR in this incident that took place on Wednesday night in village Bhora Kalan, but till Thursday evening no arrest has been reported.

According to the complaint of Subedar Nazar Mohammad, there are only four houses of Muslim families in Bhora Kalan village.

He said the commotion started on Wednesday morning, when a mob of around 200 people led by Rajesh Chauhan alias Babu, Anil Bhadauria and Sanjay Vyas surrounded the mosque and entered the prayer hall, where they expelled the worshipers from the village. threatened.

“Again in the night, when we were praying inside the prayer hall in the mosque, the mob came and beat up the worshippers and also closed the prayer hall. They even threatened to kill us,” the Subedar said in his complaint, according to the police.

By the time the police arrived, the accused had fled.

Officials said the police have recovered a mobile phone from the spot which may have belonged to a member of the attacking mob.

Following Mohammad’s complaint, an FIR was registered against Rajesh Chauhan, Anil Bhadauria, Sanjay Vyas and several others at the Bilaspur police station under IPC sections relating to rioting, attempt to cause religious conflict and unlawful assembly.

“As per the complaint, an FIR has been registered and we are verifying the facts. Action will be taken as per law,” said investigating officer ASI Gajendra Singh.
