Monsoon session of UP Vidhan Sabha begins on Monday, CM dedicates 22 September to women MLAs

As the monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly is set to begin on Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday dedicated 22 September as a special day for women legislators of both the houses of the state legislature, the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council.

In a historic decision, the chief minister made the announcement while addressing members of the BJP and allies on the eve of the monsoon session.

In the session to be held on September 22, 47 women MLAs will speak on various issues.

The Chief Minister has urged the women members to speak on the State Government’s Mission Shakti and other programs for the safety, honor and self-reliance of the women of the state during the special session.

CM Yogi has also requested Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna to make a woman MLA as the presiding officer in both the houses to make this day special.

Further, he has urged the members to participate in the proceedings of the House with full devotion, devote maximum time and demonstrate ideal conduct, and said that those who are unable to attend the proceedings of the House due to any reason, They inform their whip so that the proceedings can start in time.

Calling upon the members of the ruling party to maintain discipline, the Chief Minister asked all the members of the Legislature to present their views and back their statements with facts to create public awareness.

The Chief Minister further said that the work done by Uttar Pradesh to control the spread of lumpy skin disease should be highlighted in both the Houses. “The opposition is at a loss for the issues and, therefore, will try to disrupt the proceedings of the House. We should not give in to the issues of the ‘unemployed’ opposition and we should be careful with what we speak,” he said.

He also ordered all the members to get their medical checkup done at the camp set up by the health department on the first day of the monsoon session.

The Chief Minister said that programs should be organized in the honor of late Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay on his birth anniversary to be celebrated on 25 September. He said that programs should be organized at booth level and people should be made aware of the ideology and works of Deendayal ji.

Talking about joining the spirit of ‘Vocal for Local’, he said that the campaign should be taken to the grassroot level to achieve the goal of self-reliant India.
