Mumbai: Mobile phone thief has been arrested Mumbai Police for allegedly demanding money from the victims on their digital payment accountan official said on Monday.

Later, one of the co-workers managed to get Qureshi’s phone number and contacted him.
Qureshi told the victim that once they transferred the money to his digital payment account, he would return their mobile phones.
“The accused started calling the victims every day. Fed up with their demand for money, one of the victims lodged an FIR. Qureshi was tracked down and arrested in Thane. Police recovered ten mobile phone handsets from his possession. did.” the officer said.
Speaking about his modus operandi, the official said that Qureshi used to visit various business units in Mumbai and seek jobs for survival. After that he used to steal the mobile.
He never submitted his identity card to avoid arrest.
VB Nagar police sub-inspector Bhausaheb Sonawane said Qureshi has been booked under section 380 (theft in the house) of the Indian Penal Code.
