New Delhi:

Anil K Antony, son of veteran Congress leader AK Antony, on Thursday joined the BJP here in the presence of Union ministers Piyush Goyal and V Muraleedharan.

Antony, who heads the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee’s digital media cell, criticized the Congress leadership for working for a “single family” instead of working for the country.

He quit the Congress after criticizing the party’s stand on the controversial BBC documentary film on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Welcoming Antony to the BJP, Goyal described him as a “very grassroots political activist” who was convinced that the BJP cares for the country and shares the Prime Minister’s vision of sustainable development.

Asked if he had consulted his father before joining, Antony said, “It is not about personality, it is about difference of opinion and views. I firmly believe that I have taken the right step.” Raised. My respect for my father will remain.” B J P.
