Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has not named Aryan, son of Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan. In the chargesheet filed in the drug racket case as no medicine was recovered from him.
The case was transferred to a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on November 6, 2021 and on Friday, SIT chief Sanjay Singh said in a press note, “All the accused except Aryan and Mohak were found to be in possession of narcotics. The criterion of the principle of proof has been applied beyond reasonable doubt. Based on which complaint has been registered against 14 accused and for lack of sufficient evidence, complaint against six (including Aryan Khan) has not been registered.
According to the SIT, the investigation revealed that no medicine was recovered from Aryan Khan and also that Arbaaz, an accused in the case involving Aryan, had never said that the medicine he had was for Aryan’s consumption.
The chargesheet states, “He had voluntarily handed over the mobile phone of Aryan to the investigating officer. … the formal forfeiture procedure as prescribed in law was not followed after such handing over. …the veracity of the data extracted from Aryan’s phone is doubtful as there is no seizure memo for the phone to show when and how his phone was seized,” the SIT highlighted.
On 28 October, the Bombay High Court granted bail to Khan and two others after they were arrested on 3 October. The court had directed that he be released from Arthur Road Jail after executing a cash bond of Rs 1 lakh with one or more. surety
Chargesheet has been filed against: Arbaaz Merchant, 26; Munmun Dhamecha, 29; Vikrant Chhokar, 32; Mohak Jaswal, 28; Ishmeet Chadha, 33; Gomit Chopra, 28; Nupur Satija, 29; Abdul Kader Sheikh, 30; Shreyas Nair, 23; Manish Rajgaria, 30; Achit Kumar, 22; Chinadu Igwe, 27; Shivraj Harijan, 33; Okoro Uzoma, 40. However, Mr. Khan, Evin Sahu, Sameer Sehgal, Manav Singhal, Bhaskar Arora, Gopalji Anand were not named in the 6000-page chargesheet.
