A BJP MLA from Gujarat created a ruckus on Monday by calling Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose a member of the “terrorist” (terrorist) wing. He apologized, attributing the mistake to a mistranslation.

MLA Yogesh R Patel (Bapji) said that due to an error while translating from English to Gujarati, wrong words were posted on social media.

As a tribute to Bose on his birth anniversary, Patel shared a post in Gujarati on his Facebook page that said, “Bose was a member of the Terrorist Wing” (wing). He participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement as a Congress leader and was known to advocate socialist policies.”

After some people alerted the Anand MLA about the choice of words, he quickly deleted the post. Gujarat AAP president Isudan Gadhvi said, “I condemn BJP MLA Yogeshbhai for calling Subhash Chandra Bose a terrorist. It is not enough to remove the post. Even if it was posted by mistake, Patel should be made public.” Should apologize profusely.”

Patel issued a statement saying, “Wrong words were posted due to an error in translation from English to Gujarati.” He said, “The person handling my account took an English text about Bose and translated it online and put it on my page. By mistake a wrong word was chosen and posted. I apologize for the mistake.” I ask.”
