Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said New India is focusing on bold reforms, big infrastructure and the best of talent.

Delivering the inaugural address via video conferencing at the three-day Global Investors Meet, ‘Invest Karnataka 2022’, he said that in this time of global economic uncertainty, the entire world is confident that the fundamentals of the Indian economy are strong.

“Despite global uncertainties, India is growing rapidly”, he said.

The prime minister said Karnataka has the power of a “double engine”, with a single party in government both in the state and at the Centre.

“When we talk about talent and technology, the first name that comes to mind is “Brand Bengaluru”, Mr. Modi said.

Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, besides Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal, Prahlad Joshi and Rajiv Chandrashekhar were also present at the inauguration ceremony.

Officials said this edition of GIM is being organized under the theme ‘Build for the World’, reflecting the objective of Karnataka’s role in the global supply chain.

He said that the major themes to be addressed during the event would revolve around the sub-themes of Innovation, Sustainability, Equity and Resilience.
