Expert Diet Tips for New Year’s Eve:

1. What changes can they make to their day/diet plan when they are going out for drinks?
Make sure you meet most of your protein intake at home before heading out for drinks. Because of protein’s high satiety index, you’ll be full longer and less likely to drink more.

2. What to do if you are planning to have a party but can’t miss the workout?
Whenever we drink, our body first gives priority to alcohol and then to other nutrients for digestion. Wait as long as possible between your exercise regime and drinks. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids and keep your workouts short.

3. Possible harms of drinking and exercise?
Alcohol slows down the rate of muscle building i.e. decrease in muscle protein synthesis. Plus it will cause toxicity to the organs over time. Once you consume alcohol regularly your stamina also decreases.

4. Does Caffeine Really Help Quickly Decrease Intoxication?
Alcohol makes you feel sleepy, while caffeine acts as a catalyst to make you feel awake but it doesn’t help speed up the metabolism of the drink you drink. In fact mixing caffeine with alcohol can be dangerous because it makes you believe that you are sober.

5. What to do if there is no caffeine to overcome a hangover?
Lemon and salt water should be consumed to overcome your hangover. Since the consumption of alcohol dehydrates our body, lemon water with salt helps to restore it.

6. Pro Tip:
You can choose to have Diet Coke or lime water or soda in your hand during the moment when you’re at the party and everyone is giving you a drink, that way you won’t feel out of place and less likely to people. Will ask you to drink.
