Newborn baby, driver dies after being hit by ambulance in Tamil Nadu

A newborn baby and an ambulance driver died when they were traveling in a vehicle near Malumichampti on the outskirts here on Tuesday, police said.

According to the police, the ambulance was bringing the child from Udumalpet in nearby Tiruppur district to the government hospital in Coimbatore. When the vehicle was going near Malumichampatti, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned.

The child and the driver died on the spot due to the accident.

The bodies were sent to the Government Hospital in Coimbatore for post-mortem. Further investigation is on, the police said.
