RB Leipzig defender Nordi Mukile has announced his departure from the Bundesliga club, with the 24-year-old expected to join defending Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Mückel was an important part of Leipzig’s defense last season as the team finished fourth in the Bundesliga and won the DFB-Pokal Cup.

The French defender played 21 matches for Leipzig in the league and made 1.3 tackles, 1.1 interceptions and 1.5 clearances per game. He also scored one goal and provided three assists.

Now Mukile has announced that he is departing Leipzig on Tuesday. In a message from his official Twitter account, the 24-year-old thanked the club for everything it has done for him and felt at home from day one. He also thanked the people of the club in his tweet.

“Leebe RBL family. I want to thank you for everything you have done for me. You made me feel at home from day one and I am leaving with a heavy heart today. I would like to thank everyone involved in the club.” I would like to thank those who help us reach our goals on a daily basis,” said Mukiley.

According to reports, the French defender is on the verge of shifting to PSG. British media also reported Chelsea’s interest as the Blues were preparing an alleged swap deal for the defender, with forward Timo Werner going in the other direction.

Chelsea are in need of defensive reinforcements after losing Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger on free transfers to Barcelona and Real Madrid.

However, it looks like PSG are currently in pole position to complete the deal and Mukilee’s announcement could mean the move is in its final stages.

If the transfer takes place, it would be the Ligue 1 Giants’ third signing of the summer.
