NSE changes: Adani Wilmar, Adani Power to be included in some indices

As per official statement by smellyAdani Wilmar is to be included in the Nifty Next 50 Index while Adani Power will be included in the Nifty Next 500 Index and Nifty Midcap 150 Index with effect from March 31, 2023, respectively.

The Index Maintenance Sub-Committee (Equity) of NSE Indices Limited has decided substitution of stocks in various indices as part of its periodic review, NSE said in a press statement on Friday.

Here’s how major indices will look from March 31:

These changes will also be applicable to Nifty 500 Multicap 50:25:25 Index.

Nine other companies, including Adani Wilmar, Canara Bank, ABB India and Page Industries, will be excluded from the Nifty Midcap 150. In this category, new entrants include Adani Power, One 97 Communication, Gland Pharma, Apollo Tyres, Biocon Ltd and eight others.

Adani Wilmar will also be excluded from the Nifty Midcap 100, while Adani Power will be among the 14 companies that will replace the indices.

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty ended their three-day winning run with losses of over half a per cent on Friday led by selling in financial and IT stocks amid a weak global market trend.

The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 316.94 points, or 0.52%, lower at 61,002.57, as 22 components ended in the red.
