Nutritionist shares 5 budget-friendly nutritious foods

There is a myth that a healthy and nutritious diet is quite fancy and expensive. With this approach, many people give up on their goal of becoming fit. Nutritionist Lavneet Batra in her latest Instagram post says that a healthy diet doesn’t have to be expensive. According to him, a lot of food items are easily available and can be easily included in the daily diet. In fact, she said that most of us eat them occasionally and are now aware of the health benefits of it.

1) barge

Millet is one of the most common cereals, and is consumed in Indian households. Known as the staple food of the poor man, millet is a rich source of energy, calories and protein. Rich in resistant starch, soluble and insoluble dietary fiber, minerals and antioxidants, there are many health benefits associated with millet.

2) Bananas

Banana is a fruit that is economical, versatile and rich in potassium, fiber, calcium and manganese. It is also loaded with iron, folate, niacin, riboflavin and B6.

3) Chickpeas

According to experts, gram is an economical alternative to meat, poultry and seafood. Rich in protein, they are healthy and packed with fiber, vitamins and minerals. Chana also helps in controlling your weight, improving digestion and reducing the risk of many diseases.

4) Spinach

People include leafy vegetables in their diet due to many health benefits. Leafy vegetables can also be used in salads, casseroles, soups, smoothies and vegetable preparation. Spinach is easily available in the markets and at a nominal cost. Rich in vitamin K, they play an important role in bone health and reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer.
