Pak PM responds to Zimbabwe President’s ‘Mr Bean’ jibe at Pakistan cricket

Pakistanis have real cricketing spirit, said Pak PM in reply to Zimbabwe President on Mr. Bean joke.

Islamabad:

After the President of Zimbabwe launched a scathing attack on Pakistan in his cryptic congratulatory tweet for his country’s victory in the T20 World Cup, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has responded with a subtle sarcasm.

Shehbaz Sharif replied to the Zimbabwe President’s tweet and wrote, “We may not have the real Mr Bean but we have the real cricketing spirit.. and we Pakistanis have a strange habit of bouncing back ЁЯЩВ Mr President: Congratulations. Your team played really well today,” with a clapping emoticon.

Zimbabwean President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa on Thursday congratulated the cricket team after the win against Pakistan, however, raised several eyebrows with his witty statement that he pointed to Pakistan. He wrote, “What a win for Zimbabwe! Congratulations to the Chevrons. Next time, send the real Mr. Bean…#PakvsZim”

President Emerson took a jibe at Pakistani comedian Asif Muhammad, Mr Bean’s doppelganger who traveled to Zimbabwe in 2016, posing as the real Mr Bean, who actor Rowan Atkinson originally plays.

The Pakistan Cricket Board uploaded a post on its official Twitter account of the team’s players practicing before the Zimbabwe match, to which a Twitter user named Ngugi Chasura replied, “As Zimbabweans, we will not forgive you.. .You once gave us Fraud Pak Bean instead of Mr. Bean Rowan..We will solve the matter tomorrow just pray that the rain saves you…#ZIMVSPAK.”

Now, Shehbaz Sharif’s reaction is being appreciated by Pakistan cricket fans who call it “SIXER!!!” are saying.

Talking about the match, Pakistan’s over-reliance on their opening batting pair came back to haunt them as Zimbabwe scored a low to clinch their maiden Super-12 win of the ongoing T20 World Cup on Thursday. He defeated them by one run in the thriller. Perth Stadium.

Pakistan made a minor chasing mistake as they suffered a batting collapse and left their bowlers to chase and win the match for them. All-rounder Sikandar Raza picked up three wickets in a short span of time to chase down the target.

Earlier, Pakistani bowlers badly affected Zimbabwe’s batting lineup, restricting them to just 130/8.

Pakistan’s decision to play an extra pacer in Mohammad Wasim Jr. worked wonders for the team as the youngster with his best T20I bowling figures (4/24) restricted Zimbabwe to a lower level. Sean Williams and Brad Evans helped the team cross the 100-run mark.

Sikandar Raza was declared the ‘Player of the Match’ for his brilliant bowling performance.
