Passenger gets handwritten cricket score from pilot in flight, internet calls it “epic”

The photo of cricket score is going viral.

Cricket is a festival, a celebration and an emotion for millions of people in the country. People look for different ways to stay updated with what is happening in the match, especially the score. One such cricket fan asked for a score update from the pilot of the IndiGo flight in which he was in. The pilot happily accepted his point and the gesture is winning hearts online. A Twitter user on Sunday posted a picture of a note sent by a pilot in flight about the score update during a T20 match between India and South Africa. The tweet shows that the picture has been clicked on the plane.

User Vikram Garga’s tweet said, “India lost today but indigo6e won my heart. Pilot sent a mid-air note requesting score update.” The accompanying photo shows a handwritten scorecard: SA 33/03, 6 overs, IND 133/9.

The tweet posted on October 30 is gaining traction online. It has got 373 likes and 25 retweets so far.

IndiGo also responded to Mr. Garga’s tweet, saying, “We are glad to see this. We look forward to seeing you again on board soon.”

Users called the gesture “epic” and said that Indigo deserves a shout out. Others posted smiley and thumbs up emoji to express their happiness.

South Africa defeated India by five wickets in the T20 match played in Perth on Sunday. Chasing their target of 134 runs in the game, the Proteas were reduced to 24 for 3, but a 76-run stand between Aiden Markram and David Miller helped them recover.

Markram fell soon after his half-century but David Miller remained there till the end to end the game.

It was Suryakumar Yadav’s 68 off 40 balls that helped India post 133 for 9 vs South Africa after skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bat first. Lungi Ngidi returned 4 for 29.
