PepsiCo India hands over creative mandate to Leo Burnett India

New Delhi: PepsiCo India has selected Leo Burnett India as its creative partner to drive long-term growth and momentum in its food and beverage portfolio, advertising agency, part of Publicis Group, said in a statement on Friday.

The maker of Pepsi drinks and Lay’s chips made the announcement after ending its three-decade-long association with WPP’s network of creative and media agencies.

As part of the partnership, Leo Burnett will be responsible for the company’s creative and digital mandate across brands across the country. The account has been won after an intense multi-agency pitch, Leo Burnett said in a statement.

George Kovur, Senior Vice President, said, “At PepsiCo India, we aim to create innovative and purposeful consumer campaigns that help us engage effectively with our consumers.”

Leo Burnett’s “strategic thinking” coupled with strong creative and marketing capabilities make it the right partner for PepsiCo India’s next phase of growth, Kovur said.

PepsiCo India stable brands include Pepsi, Lays, Kurkure, Tropicana 100%, Gatorade and Quaker.

Dheeraj Sinha, CEO, Leo Burnett, South Asia and President, BBH India, said, “We are overwhelmed by the trust reposed in us by PepsiCo India in aligning our portfolio with ours. PepsiCo’s business in India is witnessing tremendous growth and we look forward to their partner in accelerating this momentum. The mandate gives us a great opportunity to do phenomenal work going forward, and to integrate culture, creativity, data and technology into campaigns.”
