Petrol pump dealers call for indefinite strike in this city of Rajasthan

Petrol pump dealers of Bikaner division have called for an indefinite strike from Monday, October 25 to press for their demands. Dealers raised nine demands including ban on sale of illicit diesel, base oil or paraffin coming in the form of biodiesel in the division, ban on smuggled diesel coming from Punjab and Haryana, one-state-one-price for fuel, VAT rate Huh. On the lines of Punjab and Haryana, 6 per cent VAT reduction and storage limit for farmers was reduced from 2,500 liters to 1,000 liters during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Rajasthan VAT Steering Committee chairman Rajendra Singh Bhati said in a statement that a meeting of petrol pump dealers was held at Ratangarh in Churu district in which the dealers decided to go on an indefinite strike from October 25 to press for their demands.

Earlier on Saturday, for the fourth consecutive day, the prices of petrol and diesel were increased by 35 paise per liter. With this, the total increase in petrol prices has now reached 36 per litre, while diesel has become costlier 26.58 per liter since the beginning of May 2020 when taxes on the two fuels were raised to a record level.

Petrol is now expensive in Delhi 107.24 per liter and comes out to diesel 95.97, as per the price notification of the state-owned fuel retailers.

The latest increase has pushed pump rates across the country to their all-time high after a sustained rise in international oil prices. while the petrol is up The 100-a-litre mark in all major cities, diesel has crossed that level in over a dozen states.
