The Volvo S60 was launched in India earlier this year after a long wait. We drove the luxury sedan back in December 2020, and we were impressed with what the car had to offer. Like all other Volvo cars, the S60 has a great emphasis on safety and elegance, and it offered decent performance as well. The car competes with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 in India, and here are some key advantages and disadvantages if you are planning to go for the Scandinavian sedan instead of the German one. should be aware of.

1. Volvo The cars are known for their elegant Scandinavian design and the S60 does not disappoint us in that aspect. It is arguably one of the better looking sedans in its space.
2. New Volvo S60 Built on Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, it has received a 5-star safety rating from the Global NCAP crash test.
3. The S60 gets a clean, almost-button-less dashboard, with a highly responsive 9-inch vertically mounted Sensus infotainment system that is the command center for all controls in the car.
4. The NVH level of the S60 is really good and there is hardly any noise seeping inside the cabin. The cabin also gets premium Nappa leather upholstery.
Shortcoming
1. The S60 is only offered on a single T4 Inscription variant, so you don’t have much more options than what’s available globally.
2. Globally, the car gets a more powerful 2.0-litre engine in tune and then there is also a hybrid model on offer. India doesn’t even get it.
3. The S60 isn’t the fastest handling car in its segment, and feedback from the steering is a bit sluggish. In addition, the engine is more tuned for relaxed, comfortable cruising rather than spirited driving.
The 4.9-inch touchscreen system itself is capacitive and nice to use but may not be the most convenient to use while driving, as the menu itself is exhaustive.
0 notes
5. The price of Volvo S60 is ₹ 45.90 Lakh (ex-showroom, India). Audi and BMW both cut the car from cheaper variants, and their top-end trims are also slightly more expensive. Thus they provide more value.
