PM Modi meets Queen Margrethe II of Denmark

Queen Margaret of Denmark received PM Modi at Amalienborg Castle in Copenhagen on May 3.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded a warm welcome by Queen Margaret II of Denmark here on Tuesday.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said on Twitter that Prime Minister Modi honored her on the occasion of the golden jubilee of her reign.

The 82-year-old Queen has been the monarch of Denmark since 1972. The Monarchy of Denmark is one of the oldest monarchies in the world.

“Her Majesty, Queen of the Kingdom of Denmark, Margaret II warmly welcomed PM @narendramodi. PM honored Her Majesty on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of her reign,” Bagchi said in a tweet.

Royal House Konghuset said in a statement issued on 27 April that following Prime Minister Modi’s reception in the Queen’s audience, “Her Majesty will later host an official dinner at the Palace of Christian VII in Amalienborg. The Crown Prince will be present at both of the couple.” Reception and Dinner”.

“Prime Minister Modi’s visit is in connection with the official visit of Prime Minister Frederiksen to India in October 2021.

“This will be the first time in 20 years that an Indian Prime Minister has made an official visit to Denmark,” the Royal House said.
