New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that viewing human rights from the point of view of political gain and loss harms these rights as well as democracy. He said that some people try to malign the image of the country in the name of human rights.
Speaking at the 28th National Human Rights commission foundation (National Human Rights Commission) day schedule, PM Modi He said that some people see human rights violations in one type of incident and the same people do not see human rights violations in any other such incident.
PM Modi said, ‘Some people try to malign the image of the country in the name of human rights, we need to be cautious about it.
The PM said, “Human rights are grossly violated when they are viewed with a political colour, viewed through a political lens, weighed by the scales of political gain and loss. Such selective behavior is equally bad for democracy.” is harmful.”
He said, “There is one more aspect related to human rights that I want to discuss today. In recent years some people have started to interpret human rights in their own way based on their own interests.”
In his speech, the Prime Minister referred to the many measures taken by his government to provide the poor with basic needs like toilets, cooking gas, electricity and home and said that it gives rise to their aspirations and makes them aware of their rights. Makes you more aware.
He said that by enacting a law against triple talaq, his government has given new rights to Muslim women.
PM Modi also talked about measures like 26 weeks of maternity leave and more stringent laws for rape to highlight his government’s women empowerment.
Was also involved in the program marking the 28th Foundation Day program of NHRC Federation home Minister Amit Shah and Chairman Justice of the National Human Rights Commission of India Arun Kumar Mishra.
The Prime Minister had earlier said that the NHRC plays an important role in our country in protecting the human rights and dignity of marginalized people.
NHRC was established on 12 October 1993 under the Protection of Human Rights Act 1993 for the promotion and protection of human rights.
The commission takes cognizance of any violation of human rights, inquires and recommends to the public authorities for payment of compensation to the victims in cases of violation of human rights, other remedial and legal remedies against wrongful public servants.
