PM Modi to dedicate 2 landmark projects of Mrpl. Mangaluru News – Times of India

Mangaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be devoted MRPLTwo landmark projects for the nation, on September 2.
These projects are BS-VI upgradation projects, executed at a cost of Rs 1,829 crore inside the MRPL campus, and a 3 crore liters per day desalination plant, executed at a cost of Rs 677 crore, located on 14.5 acres . Tannirbhavi Beach.
MRPL’s BS-VI upgradation project is crucial to meet the visionary environmental goals that India has chosen in the coming days. The project is about the production of ultra-pure BS-VI grade fuel, with sulfur Contents less than 10 ppm. As part of this project, ONGC MRPL has set up a new FCCU Gasoline Treatment Unit (FGTU), Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) and Nitrogen Plant. The consultant for the project was Engineers India Limited (EIL). The entire system is in operation producing environment friendly BS-VI fuel.
The capacity of the desalination plant is 30 million liters per day (MLD) and the capacity can be increased to 70 MLD. The plant converts seawater into water needed for refinery processes. The plant runs on seawater reverse osmosis technology.
The consultant for the project is Fitchner Consulting Engineers (India) Pvt Ltd. The project has been executed, and is fully functional. The availability of desalination water ensures smooth functioning of the refinery throughout the year, a release said.
