In what can be considered a massive show of strength, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will sound the election bugle for Uttar Pradesh by addressing a rally in Lucknow on January 9, which will also be attended by BJP-ruled chief ministers and deputy chief ministers. states.

The rally will mark the start of the BJP’s assembly election campaign and the end of the party’s ambitious ‘Jan Vishwas Yatra’, which will end after reaching out to 98 districts (organizational) in the state.

While PM Modi will be the keynote speaker, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also address the rally.

Two Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma along with General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh Sunil Bansal and the top leadership, who is in charge of UP, will also attend the event.

According to sources, BJP has asked its state unit to make the rally a massive success and show strength.

While the BJP is expecting around lakhs of people to attend the event, the party is yet to decide on the magnitude as the Election Commission is yet to consider the campaign issues in view of the rising cases of Covid-19.

A senior leader told News18 that the presence of BJP chief ministers and deputy chief ministers is important as many migrants from UP live in their states.

“The number of migrants from UP to their states is significant. The presence of their chief ministers in UP influences their opinion about the party and its leadership and works in their favor in their respective states,” the senior leader said.

The ‘Jan Vishwas Yatra’ was started from six regions and was flagged off by BJP chief JP Nadda from Awadh region, Nitin Gadkari from West region, Rajnath Singh from Kanpur region, Mathura CM Adityanath from Brij region, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. dispatched. There is going to be a tough fight in 403 seats of the assembly. In the 2017 elections, the BJP had won 312 assembly seats while the Samajwadi Party got 47 seats.
