PM Modi wrote a letter to Akshay Kumar on the death of the actor’s mother, later said- ‘Grateful’

Superstar Akshay Kumar on Sunday said that he was touched to receive a letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who wrote to him after the actor’s mother, Aruna Bhatia passed away earlier this week.

Kumar’s mother, who was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital here, died on September 8.

The actor shared the note on Twitter, saying that he is humbled to receive a condolence message from the Prime Minister.

The 53-year-old actor wrote, “Grateful to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for this wonderful gesture to take out time and express warm feelings for me and my late parents. These comforting words will always be with me. Jai Ambe ,” the 53-year-old actor wrote.

In the letter dated September 11, PM Modi wrote that he was saddened by the demise of Kumar’s mother and recalled his conversation with the actor on “that fateful morning”.

The prime minister said, “You were crestfolded and you embodied it emotionally when you wrote, ‘She was my core. And today I feel an inexhaustible pain at the core of my existence’.”

The letter mentioned how Kumar tasted success after hard work and struggle, a feat in which even his mother’s support was paramount.

“Through your journey, you upheld the right values ​​and moral strength, due to which you could easily turn adversities into opportunities. And these lessons came from your parents. When you started your career, I am sure That those who got in the way would have been suspicious, even downright reprehensible.

“But, your mother stood by you like a rock. At the pinnacle of success and the pinnacle of failure, she was there as an anchor. She made sure that you remain kind, compassionate and humble at all times. She also carried a spirit of service. In you, seen time and again through your philanthropic initiatives and eagerness to give back to the society,” the PM further said in the letter.

In the letter, the Prime Minister also wrote that it was heartening that Bhatia could witness her son’s stardom and lauded the actor for the way he looked after him, calling it a “deeply inspiring”. “He left the world utterly knowing that his beloved son is one of India’s most admired and versatile actors.
