PM Modi’s Har Ghar Tricolor campaign did a business of Rs 500 crore

New Delhi: As India celebrated its 75th Independence Day on 15 August 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for “Har Ghar Tiranga” was widely adopted by the countrymen. The sale of more than 30 crore national flags this year has resulted in an estimated Rs. 500 crore in revenue, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) said.

The business leaders said that the Har Ghar Tiranga movement has demonstrated the capability and capabilities of Indian traders, who produced more than 300 million tricolors in a record 20 days to meet the astronomical demand of the people. Large-scale tricolor activities, including rallies, marches, torch processions, Tiranga Gaurav Yatra, as well as open meetings and conferences, are organized across states at the behest of trade unions. ,Also read: First meeting of committee on MSP expected on August 22,

The amendment to the Flag Code by the Central Government to allow the manufacture of flags from polyester and machines also played a significant role in easing production. Earlier, only khadi or cotton could be used to make the Indian tricolor. More than one million people in the country now have jobs due to flag law reform as they can now make tricolor flags at home or in small facilities. A large number of Indian flags were manufactured in a very organized manner by the SME manufacturing and trading sector working day and night. Annual sales of the Indian tricolor were earlier limited to around $150-200 million during the Independence Day celebrations. However, the Har Ghar Tiranga movement has significantly improved sales of Rs. 500 crore, CAIT added.

In support of the vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Vocal on Local”, Mr. Bhartia and Mr. Khandelwal are requesting Prime Minister Mr. Modi to declare a Swaraj year starting from 15th August. This will help India to stand as a separate nation on the global stage. He further said that the government should run a campaign in PPP model with organizations from various sectors, to inculcate the basic spirit of “Nation Paramount” in the entire country in the light of the zeal and patriotism of the people displayed in the past. The business leaders also said that the one-year long Swaraj Varsha series will instill a sense of pride in the country’s independence and educate the youth about the sacrifices made by its citizens to win independence.
