Post-Covid clinics to be set up in all health centers in Kerala

The government has issued an order directing that separate post-covid clinics should be set up in all health facilities to manage the health problems faced by the survivors of Kovid.

Health Minister Veena George said in a statement here that post-Covid clinics have been opened from primary health centers to medical colleges and private hospitals.

These clinics will function in primary health centres, family health centers and community health centers from 12 noon to 2 pm on Thursday. The clinic will function in general hospital, district and taluk hospitals on the same day. In medical colleges and private hospitals, clinics will function on specific days as decided by the administrators.

Separate committees have been formed at the district and state level for the management of post-COVID clinics. Private hospitals should appoint a nodal officer for this.

All COVID patients will be given all information about post-COVID clinics by health workers at the time of discharge from hospitals or other field hospitals.

A special register will be maintained for patients in all post-Covid clinics. Health workers, ASHA and palliative care workers should ensure that COVID survivors reach these clinics in their locality. The details of patients will be entered in the register, which will also include the details of those who need to be referred for higher facilities

Post-COVID clinics can also be reached through tele-medicine facilities, in taluk and district hospitals. COVID survivors with persistent lung-related issues can also avail pulmonary rehabilitation facilities.
