Prabha Khaitan Foundation launches Coimbatore chapter

“We will be hosting writers, poets, performing artists and theater personalities from across India here in the city,” says Poonam Bafna, part of the Ehsaas Women of Coimbatore, a special initiative of the Kolkata-based Prabha Khaitan Foundation. on women empowerment. Ehsaas Ki Poonam and Roopa Mohandas jointly bring here the Coimbatore chapter of the Foundation to empower the arts and literature landscape. “The time has come for us to have a regional presence,” says Anindita Chatterjee, executive trustee of the foundation in Kolkata. Apart from national personalities, the Coimbatore chapter will also focus on regional writers and artists and showcase their work. “We have roped in writers like Shashi Tharoor, Shobha Tharoor, Barkha Dutt as well as Tamil writers from the region,” says Poonam.

The cultural wing brings together programs like sur and saz and a mulkat with stalwarts from different fields for a meetup on cultural and social issues with singers and musicians.
