Volvo Cars India begins its electric journey in India with the launch of Volvo XC40 Recharge Today, a price of Rs. 55.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). However, during the price announcement, the Scandinavian carmaker also revealed its plans to introduce its second electric SUV, the Volvo C40 Recharge, in India by 2023. Here, The Volvo C40 Recharge electric SUV has been built at Volvo’s manufacturing plant in Ghent, Belgium, and will arrive in India via the CBU (completely built-up) route. Globally, the Volvo C40 Recharge went on sale last year.

Like the Volvo XC40 and Polestar 2, the Volvo C40 recharge is based on the CMA platform. It offers the benefits of an SUV but with a low and sleek design. The rear of the Volvo C40 Recharge features a rear-end design to go with the lower roof line, while the new front design introduces a new face for the electric Volvo and includes headlights with state-of-the-art Pixel technology.

Like the Volvo XC40 Recharge, the Volvo C40 Recharge comes with one of the best infotainment systems on the market, jointly developed with Google and based on the Android operating system.
Inside, the Volvo C40 Recharge offers a high seating position that most Volvo drivers prefer, while it is available with color and deco options unique to the model. It is also the first Volvo model to be completely leather-free.
The Volvo C40 Recharge can be fast charged from 10 to 80 percent in about 40 minutes via a 150 kW DC fast charger.

Like the Volvo XC40 Recharge, the Volvo C40 Recharge comes with one of the best infotainment systems on the market, jointly developed with Google and based on the Android operating system. It provides consumers with Google apps and built-in services, such as Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play. Volvo says the car has a trunk space of 413 liters, and a trunk that also holds 31 liters of storage space – which is another metric similar to the Volvo XC40 Recharge.
The Volvo C40 recharge will be located below the Volvo XC40 recharge and is a part of Volvo’s strategy to focus solely on EVs by 2030.

At the heart of the Volvo C40 Recharge, is a twin electric motor set-up, one at the front and one at the rear axle, powered by a 78-kWh battery that can be rapidly charged from around 10 to 80 percent. 40 minutes via 150 kW DC fast charger. It gives an approximate range of about 420 km. It gives 408 bhp power and 660 Nm torque. The Volvo C40 recharge will be located below the Volvo XC40 recharge and is a part of Volvo’s strategy to focus solely on EVs by 2030.
