Premier League club Watford Sack manager Zisco Munoz after a poor start to the season

Watford on Sunday announced the sacking of head coach Zisco Munoz after a poor start to the Premier League season.

The Spaniard sits 14th in the Premier League table with the club having scored just seven points in their opening seven matches.

“The Board feels that the recent performances indicate a negative trend, at a time when team cohesion should improve,” the club said in a statement.

Munoz took over at Vicarage Road in December and successfully guided the club into the top flight, finishing second in the championship last season.

The statement read: “The Hornets will always be grateful to Zisco for the role he played in securing the promotion last season and wish him the best of luck for his future career in football.

“No further club comment will be available until the imminent announcement of a new head coach.”
