Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez scored a decent second half goal to seal a 1-0 home win over West Ham United after both sides squandered chances in an entertaining Premier League match on Saturday.

Jiménez gave visiting goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski no chance in the 58th minute with a first shot from 18 meters into the bottom right corner following a pinpoint delivery from Daniil Podens, easing continued Wolves pressure after the break.

Jarrod Bowen came close to opening the scoring for West Ham when he inches wide in the 10th minute, before Jiménez scored a dipped finish in the 33rd and a minute later Fabianski tipped over a Joao Moutinho piledriver.

Fabianski twice denied Lively Podence immediately after the break, hammering out his low drive from the edge of the field before placing a brilliant effort from the forward as Wolves returned the hammer with a complicated passing.

Fabianski was powerless when Podence hit the ball back to the right and Jimenez made a delightful shot that went away from the keeper to cheer home fans.

Third-placed West Ham, whose four-game winning league run was broken, threw the men forward in the closing stages, but it was only Bowen’s shot on the bar to show their pressure as Wolves solidified behind. and reached the sixth position.
