Following the letter from the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education BC Nagesh, the Department of Pre-University Education has also entrusted the task of revision of II PU History Textbook Chapter 4.2 titled “Emerging New Religions” to the committee headed by Rohit Chakratirtha.
The minister wrote to the principal secretary of the Department of Primary and Secondary Education on March 17, 2022, stating that there were “certain objections” against the text that “hurts religious sentiments”.
It is learned that the committee has already revised the textbook and submitted its report to the government.
Mr. Nagesh said: “Mr. Chakratirtha has successfully revised school textbooks. That is why we have entrusted the work of revision of II PU history textbooks to him also.” He described Sri Chakratirtha as a “patriot”.
