Puducherry DMK leader urges CM Rangasamy to reconsider alliance with BJP, Center ignores UT in budget

AMH Najim said that the Puducherry government has not benefited even by forging an alliance with the BJP at the Centre.

DMK MLA and party’s Karaikal district convener, AMH Nazeem has called on Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy to quit the alliance with the BJP to protest the “neglect shown to the Union Territory in the Budget”.

Talking to reporters on Thursday night, the DMK leader said that the Center has completely ignored the Union Territory in the annual budget. He said that the central assistance remained the same as in the previous financial year.

The alliance with BJP has not helped the government. He said that even after months of coming to power, the government is unable to pay pending salaries to employees of public sector undertakings and Anganwadi workers.

“Even after being in an alliance, the BJP at the Center is unwilling to provide any assistance to the Union Territory. The Chief Minister should reconsider the alliance with the BJP at the earliest,” Mr. Nazeem said.
