Rajkot: A 15-year-old eight-month-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men on Wednesday near Gondal town. The girl is a school dropout.
The girl and her 22-year-old boyfriend were sitting on a bike on the outskirts of Mota Umwada village, adjacent to Gondal. While they were chatting by clicking the video, the three accused passed by on a bike and saw the couple. They first thrashed the man, robbed him of Rs 600 in cash and held him at knife point.
After this, the three dragged the girl for some distance and raped her in turn, the police said. She even threatened to kill her lover if she approached the police or told her family members about the rape.
Initially, the girl’s parents were reluctant to file a complaint but the police came to know about the incident and reassured them.
After scanning the CCTV footage, the police got the registration number of the bike and traced the accused. They have been identified as Mukeshnath Lakum, Sanjaynath Mangrolia, both residents of Mota Umwada and Ajaynath Mangrolia of Kotra Sangani village in Rajkot district.
Gondal police said, “The accused work in casual labor and their age is between 22-25 years.”
