Hyderabad-based vaccine maker Bharat Biotech on Friday said it has received reports that COVID-19 vaccines other than covaccine are being administered to children in the age group of 15-18 years in the country and from healthcare workers. Administration has been requested to ensure The only approved COVID vaccine for this particular population category.
“We have received several reports of other COVID-19 vaccines being given to persons in the age group of 15-18 years. We humbly request the healthcare workers to be extremely vigilant and ensure that only in the age group of 15-18 years Covaxin be given to individuals. Groups,” read a Bharat Biotech release.

The Union Health Ministry has informed the States and Union Territories that only ‘Covaxin’ is to be administered in this population category and additional doses of ‘Covaxin’ will be sent to all the States and UTs.
