Recent: HAL signs Rs 2,400 crore contract with BEL for Tejas MK1A system – Times of India

Bengaluru: Defense PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (Hal) signed a contract worth Rs 2,400 crore with Bharat Electronics Limited on Thursday (belly) For developing and supplying 20 types of systems for LCA Tejasie MK1A program.
BEL, which is also a defense PSU, will have five years – from 2023 to 2028 – to supply critical Avionics Line Replacement Units (LRUs), flight control computers and systems associated with night flying LRUs.
Describing the contract as a major boost to indigenisation, HAL said: “… this is the largest ever order placed by HAL to any Indian company.”
HAL CMD R Madhavan said that the LCA Tejas program is a classic example of synergy between Indian defense establishments like HAL, DRDO and BEL.

The order for the supply of these systems for the 83 Tejas Mk1A fighter fleet will be executed by two divisions of Bharat Electronics Limited, Bengaluru and Panchkula (Haryana). All the contracted items will be delivered by BEL to HAL in ready to board condition.

Order for Delivery under 83 Tejas Mk1A Indian Air Force The financial year will start from 2023-24. The domestic fighter aircraft is to be equipped with indigenous flight control computers, air data computers which will also be supplied by BEL under this contract. These systems have been designed and developed by various laboratories of DRDO and Aeronautical Development Agency, Bengaluru.
