However, Hall’s next post was on March 5, the day Warne died, with a picture of himself with Warne. , with the caption “Very sad. No more words today. Drought”.

The Sporting News CEO Hall paid tribute to his friend and shared a link to his tribute along with the photo. In a letter, Hall wrote, “Anyone who knew Shane knew his warmth, his care, his incredible sense of humor, his laughter, the gleam of his eyes and the gleam of those sparkling, unnaturally white teeth.” Describing Warne’s final days, Hall elaborated on the moments he spent with the cricket icon in Thailand and his own association with Warne that spanned over 15 years.

Shane Warne’s Last Meal

“I’ve dined with Shane at many great establishments, but instead of sampling some local Thai food, we tucked into a plate of Vegemite on toast. Shane chomping away: “Geez, you can’t beat Vegemite with some butter can, always great wherever you are in the world”. An Australian through and through – it turned out to be his last meal.

“The ever caring father, when I was leaving, he went to his bedroom to call his kids”, recalled Hall, noting that Warne had previously complained of chest pain and that part of the tour did not affect anyone. Didn’t know whether he had gone to the doctor or not.

“None of us are aware that Shane went to the doctor, although he did complain to a friend of his chest pain and shortness of breath. He knew he was a little overweight and Hard was coming back to training,” Hall said.

Warne, 52, was found dead in his hotel room in Thailand where he was vacationing. His manager James Erskine revealed that the legendary spinner used to go on a ‘ridiculous diet’ and had just finished one where Warne was consuming only liquids for almost 14 days. Thai police said on Sunday that preliminary investigations did not indicate any wrongdoing in Warne’s death, but an autopsy had been conducted.
