UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Saturday said that he will cheer for the England cricket team as they take on Pakistan in the final of the T20 World Cup today.
“All the best to England Cricket in the T20 World Cup final against Pakistan tomorrow. I will cheer you on along with every other cricket fan across the UK. We are behind you in every way,” Sunak said.
England vs Pakistan match is scheduled to start at 1:30 PM (IST) today at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia. The toss is to be held half an hour before the start of the match.
England defeated India by 10 wickets to qualify for the final while Pakistan defeated New Zealand in the semi-final.
Pakistan (2009) and England (2010) have won the T20 World Cup once each since it began in 2007.
