RRR eyes Oscar 2023 India Chosen Chhelo Show (the final film show) as its official entry for the Academy Awards, the SS Rajamouli directorial has been submitted for several categories as part of its ‘For Your Consideration’ campaign. RRR is presenting for 14 categories, including Best Actor for Ram Charan and Jr NTR, Best Supporting Actress for Alia Bhatt, Best Supporting Actor Ajay Devgn and Best Picture.
Issuing a statement about RRR’s submission for Oscar consideration, the filmmakers said on Twitter, “We are honored that the tremendous success of RRR has represented Indian cinema on a global scale and garnered milestones at the box office across the globe. Stoned and united film lovers across the globe crossing linguistic and cultural barriers.”

RRR is a fictional story of Indian revolutionaries – Alluri Sitarama Raju played by Ram Charan and Komaram Bheem played by Jr NTR. The film is set in the 1920s when India was under British rule. Apart from Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the film also starred Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgan.

The film earned around 1200 crores worldwide at the box office. Many big Hollywood names, including the Russo Brothers to American filmmaker Scott Derrickson and Gremlins director Joe Dante, also praised RRR. Now it is being speculated that RRR will be India’s ticket for the Oscars.
RRR is winning the hearts of the audience in the west. The film has been praised by several international filmmakers, including James Gunn, the Russo Brothers and Baby Driver’s assistant Edgar Wright.
