Russia’s Lavrov denies Putin’s illness – Times of India

Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Sunday denied speculation that the President Vladimir Putin was ill, saying that there were no signs pointing to any disease.

Responding to a question from French broadcaster TF1, Russia’s top diplomat said: “I don’t think sensible people can see any kind of illness or symptoms of illness in this person.”
Lavrov said Putin, who will turn 70 in October, “appears in public every day.
“You can see him on the screen, read and listen to his speeches,” Lavrov said in remarks released by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“I leave it to the discretion of those spreading such rumours.”
Putin, who has been in power in Russia for more than two decades, sent troops to Ukraine on February 24, sending shock waves around the world.
